Sitting Up

Yep, she's sitting up! I just don't know how this happened but she went from not being able to one day to sitting up and playing the next. She loves to be upright watching the world and giggling all the time. She wants to reach and grab anything that she can, including her sisters hair!! Why does the second child grow up so much faster?

5 Months

I couldn't decide on one picture so I posted all of them!

Happy 5 month birthday Ella.

What you are up to this month:

-SMILING, besides sleeping, eating and pooping-your favorite thing to do is smile.

-Laughing out loud with a giggle. You mostly laugh at your sister and love to giggle when your dog does something funny.

-Eating some foods. Mommy had a great idea to make your food at home, but didn't puree it quit enough so it's in the freezer till you get the hang of it. Right now you are enjoying store bought bananas, sweet peas and green beans. You don't quit have the hang of taking food from the spoon but we are working on it.

-Sleeping in your own bed. Yep, you have been lots better about sleeping in your own bed. You still get up every 3-4 hours to nurse but usually you go right back to sleep.

-Sitting up. You enjoy sitting up with the boppy pillow or bumbo chair and reaching for all kinds of things.

-You found your toes! You love to suck on your toes and just play with them.

-You love your bath time and cry when I get you out.

-You have a major crush on your Daddy and smile the biggest for him.

HAPPY 5 MONTHS ELLA!

Kicked Out

Well...we tried soccer. Last Monday she did great! This Monday, not so much. She did a few things the coach and Daddy told her to do. Then she found the door to get out and decided playing on the bleachers and drinking our sodas sounded a lot more fun. So Mommy went onto the field with her for a few minutes then it was break time and she wasn't going back in. After talking her into going back on the field she lasted another 5 minutes then ran off the field again. We gave her the choice of staying or going home and she chose the bleachers (notice that wasn't one of the choices)! So we got to take her out kicking (not a soccer ball) and screaming to the car. Even Uncle Chris was there to see all the fun. Maybe next week.

Not really listening!
Ella had a front row seat.

One of the time she had fun.

Sisters

I never had a sister...this is what it must be like.

I am blessed with sisters-in-law and "sisters" because of close close friendships...

Not that I don't LOVE my brother cause I really do!

But to have a real sister! This relationship is blossoming right before our eyes!

Little Gym

Little Gym is one of Lily's favorite places! We are just finishing up our second session there, one more class to go. We go every Monday and Ella has been great either in the sling or sleeping in her car seat throughout the class. We really feel Lily has gained so much confidence in both her self -esteem and her motor skills! This Monday was the first time she said her name in front of the entire class during the name song. She was so proud of herself. I wish I had the video camera going! We are probably going to take a break from the Little Gym and have her signed up to start indoor soccer next week. Can't wait to see how that goes!

bumbo, blocks and brrrrr

We are home today for a snow day. It is FREEZING outside and there are just a few inches of snow on the ground. Lily would love to go out and play but it's just too cold today. The wind is blowing like crazy. So we are inside and playing. Thought I would get out the the Bumbo chair and try it with Ella today. Lily just thought it was great that she was sitting up playing with her. Lily would bring her blocks and stack them and Ella would knock them down. They were both laughing out loud. As you can tell Lily has taken to all of Ella's binkies. She never took them as a baby, but now loves them. The more we push for her to get rid of it the more she sucks on them. So for now we are just trying to keep them out of sight and ignoring it as best we can.
A little accomplishment for Ella and Mommy today. I put Ella down in her bed for a nap and let her cry/fuss for a bit then went in there and patted her back and she fell asleep all curled up with her finger in her mouth and took a nap! It's a big time struggle to let my kids cry it out. I just don't do it. But really want to make a better effort to let her learn to comfort herself. Lily never learned how and that is why we have a 2 year old in our bed all the time. Most of the time we really don't mind, but wish that she would sleep in her bed. It's a work in progress.
